Candied bacon

stuffing

INGREDIENTS

  • 12 oz Bag of stuffing 

  • 3 Yellow onions, sliced

  • 3 Tbsp olive oil 

  • 1 lb Bacon

  • Brown sugar

  • 3 Apples diced 

  • 1 Cup chicken broth (could need more if thick)

  • 1 Stick of butter

  • 2 Tsp fresh thyme, chopped

  • Salt & pepper

Preparation

  • Slowly cook onions with oil in a skillet over low heat. Cook until caramelized, about 15 minutes, then set aside. 

  • Arrange bacon on a foil-lined rimmed baking sheet. Sprinkle generously with brown sugar.

  • Bake at 350 until bacon is crispy, about 15 minutes. Allow to cool (do no transfer to paper towel, it will stick). Chop bacon. 

  • Combine all ingredients in a medium-sized bowl and mix together (add more broth if needed). 

  • Put in a 2 Quart greased casserole dish and bake at 350 for about 30 minutes until heated through and crispy on top. 

  • Serves 8 people.
