
Smokey Cheese Squares

Ingredients
2 Medium onions, thinly sliced
1 Tbsp. Butter
1 Tbsp. Olive oil
1 Tbsp. Brown sugar
1 Tbsp. Balsamic vinegar (2 oz)
1 Boboli pizza shell
1/4 Cup Dates, pitted and chopped
1/4 Cup Pine nuts
1/2 Cup Smoked cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 Cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded (2oz)
1/2 Cup Smoked gouda cheese, shredded (2oz)
Preparation
Prep: Preheat oven to 450. In a large skillet cook onion in butter and oil over medium heat for 10 minutes. Stir in sugar, vinegar and dates. Cook and stir for 5 more minutes, or until onions are golden brown. Remove from heat and stir in nuts.
In a bowl combine cheese and spread evenly over bread shell. Top with onion mixture. Place shell on uncreased baking sheet. Bake for 8 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting into 2-inch squares.
Makes about 30 squares
